About the event
On the third Monday of the month, we meet at the Queen Elizabeth in Elmley Castle. It is a very pleasant community pub with good food and friendly and helpful volunteer staff. After an early dinner, we hear from a guest speaker and then, if needed, we have a short business discussion about activities and plans.
This month our speaker is Rtn. Richard Williams talking about The Ombersley Conservation Trust.
Two things you may not know about Ombersley is that firstly a large part of the historic Conservation Area is held in a Trust and secondly our own Pershore Rotary member, Richard Williams, is one of the trustees.
Richard is well known for his, and his wife Janet's, beautiful garden in Bricklehampton. Richard is also involved in many other voluntary services in the area, and with his inside knowledge of The Ombersley Trust, this sounds to be a really interesting talk. How it came to be a Trust, what does that mean in terms of conservation and the people who live in these listed buildings, and many other interesting facts about the village.
Please note, we will be sitting down to dinner promtly at 6:30pm, so please arrive by 6:15 at the latest and buy your drinks and pay for your meals in advance.
If you woiuld like to join us and find out more about Rotary's charity work in supporting local and international needs, please contact our secretary Andrew Turner on 07774 466209 or secretary@pershorerotary.club. Meals must be ordered in advance and the menu is available from Andrew.
